“I DON’T CARE ABOUT MICHAEL BROWN’S DEATH” – By Relentless Aaron

“I DON’T CARE ABOUT MICHAEL BROWN’S DEATH”

I DON’T CARE ABOUT MICHAEL BROWNS DEATH…
NOT AS MUCH AS I CARE ABOUT Michael Brown’s “LIFE”
I DON’T CARE ABOUT THE TOWN OF FERGUSON
AS MUCH AS I CARE ITS PEOPLE, IT’S STRIFE

But if I HAVE SOME SOLUTIONS to share
Even as you all SCREAM AND SHOUT
What if we could avoid MOST of the nonsense
WOULD YOU HEAR WHAT I’M TALKIN ABOUT?

Why do You PROTEST after the fact
And yet BEFORE, no focus on PREVENTION
Why do we always ARGUE OVER SPILT MILK
Instead of LEARNING the art of CONFRONTATION?

Would you hear me past the cries and chanting?
Would you see me past the cigarettes you loot?
When I tell you we need to take some responsibility
Would you hear me, or would you not give a hoot?

Listen, This has NOTHING to do with POLICE
And, this has little to do with authority
THIS IS ABOUT SAVING OUR LIVES
Whether its a cop, a neighbor or immediate family

Its said you should know when to hold, when to fold
when to walk away, and when to run
but I got a better quote for you today,
the one who rules is the one with the gun!

THANKS FOR TELLING THE TRUTH! WE NEED TO HEAR IT!
This was SPOT ON. Cudos to you for telling the truth. People need to hear it. They are hurting, yes. But its so much deeper than your rant. There are so many out there who do NOT have the tools or mental capacity to handle such interactions (with police or anyone else). Remember, this is NOT about POLICE… harm may come to you from ANY direction. Hell, Marvin Gayes dad shot him! We need to know how to deal with CONFRONTATION from ANY direction. Theres no excuse for the way police attack folk. And the rioting and looting is senseless as well. But we can stop it before it starts. We can take the gun and bullets out of their hands before they use them.

 RELENTLESS: FINE TUNED

Unfortunately, its not as cut & dry, just to say White Cop/Black Victim. Theres more to the story. Ego. Arrogance. Pride. Straight up belligerence. However, that aside many folks, no matter what color, do not have the human skillets enough to know how to deal with confrontation when it comes their way. They deal with it the best they know how, and many times that winds up with a bad outcome. How YOU grow up is irrelevant to how the NEXT person grew up. You have certain resources others don’t have. You may be BIGGER than an attacker. (Potential Resource) You may be quicker than an attacker (Potential resource) You may possess a certain level of patience. Or a gesture you make or inflection in your voice… depending on the situation, that could be your resource. A damned SMILE could disarm someone. But another person might not be as lucky. When a car crosses over the median, we need to know how best to deal with it. THAT is the issue here/neither a Black or White issue, but an issue of danger about to come your way. I know we can’t stop that. But we can stop how we HANDLE a situation. How do we help the prospect-victim BEFORE he/she catches a hot one? What details and practices must they know to get out of a situation? Oh yeah, you can bet your ass theres racism and bullying and abuses of authority. Thats reality. We need to know/exercise certain defenses for that. But as for what MIGHT happen? I’d like to keep as a HYPOTHESIS and not the INEVITABLE. Save our sons and daughters. Show, tell, teach them how to KNOW WHEN TO HOLD, KNOW WHEN TO FOLD, KNOW WHEN TO WALK AWAY, and WHEN TO RUN. Some will get hurt REGARDLESS. But others can be saved by my theory. #peace Now what I really wanna know, is the video in the convenience store Michael Brown??? OH BOY!!!! Another conversation altogether!
